When it comes to off-roading protecting your drivetrain is one of the most important things. When coming down on rocks you risk severely damaging your 3rd Gen Tacoma, resulting in not only an expensive bill, but also being stranded wherever you may be.
The CBI Front Skid Plate for the 3rd Generation Tacoma helps not only protect these issues, but can also help change your oil as well. Due to having an access door and hole for both the oil drain plug and oil filter, you no longer need to remove the factory skids to do a simple oil change.
Being 3/16" thick you can expect these skids to be beefy and sturdy enough to handle everything that comes in contact with them. They also mount up directly to factory holes meaning there is no need to drill for fitment.
CBI offers both steel and aluminum versions of their front skid plates, what you do off-road will decide what material to go with:
You can also choose to have your front skidplate powder coated black, or the Toyota factory skid gray color. You of course can also get it bare metal if you have a specific color or type of paint you want to use.

- Aluminum - Great for mild off-roading where occasionally you run into rocks and hit them. If you are more the overland type you should choose aluminum
- Steel - For those of you who happen to bash off rocks more than you don't, these are the option for you. While steel weighs more than aluminum, it can handle the beating much better.
